The Time Is Now

The time period between Labor Day and Thanksgiving is the prime opportunity for medical practices to get ahead or get out of the hole in their current fiscal year. Why do the next 12 week matter so much? Simply put this is the time of the year where the stars align before the winter holidays to boost revenue. The major factors playing into this:

School has started again- Parents are able to make their mid day appointments now that the kids are back in school and your no show rate should fall

Deductibles have hit- As we get later in the year many patients have reached their deductibles. An expensive procedure that would have gone towards a patient deductive earlier in the year where a patient would be on the hook for a majority of the payment now shifts to the insurance company. The financial hurdle for a patient has been removed and they should be much more eager to seek out care.

October is a long month- October essentially gives your practice 2 bonus days of revenue generating care with 23 business days. Take advantage of it!

If you have seasonal staff or staff that have gone off to college give them a call and see if you can utilize them on a PRN basis during their breaks. These 12 weeks are an “all hands on deck” situation so staff your practice appropriately and take advantage of a perfect storm for you practice.
