Are You Joining The AI Revolution?

By now we’ve probably all been affected by the introduction of AI in our daily lives. While AI has shown the ability to create efficiency in various aspects of our personal and professional lives one area that has shown concern in introducing AI is healthcare. There are certain roles where AI can operate without much thought or concern. There are however many major concerns in AI dictating a health plan for a patient or creating a diagnosis for a patient. However, it would be shortsighted to completely dismiss AI in healthcare as there are some aspects of medicine where AI can be helpful. Those areas include:

Staffing and Scheduling- AI can help create efficient staffing and workflow plans for your practice. AI can utilize data to help generate the most efficient ways to staff your practice based on volume, available resources and treatment types.

Billing and Coding- One way we can see AI helping to solve a healthcare problem is to assist with the data analytics in billing and coding. There is an opportunity for AI to streamline the billing and coding process to turn around claims faster and speed up the manual process that is often done by a human.

Data Management- AI can help create custom reports for your medical practice and pull data from different systems. Healthcare can often be very segmented where multiple systems are needed for their various functions. AI can take data from multiple sources to help generate site specific reporting by pooling data from all of the platforms you use.

AI will continue to have an increased presence in our lives. We should be cautious when it comes to making a patient diagnosis or involving the use of AI to replace the human interactions that are vital to building the trust of the patients that we care for.
