Find Your Staff, Don’t Wait For Them To Find You

Online job boards are a great place to start when looking to hire staff for your practice. However, to find the right candidates don’t just post a job and wait for candidates to come to you, be proactive in your search. A feature that not many people are aware of if you’re not in recruiting is that most of these job boards allow you to do a custom search radius from your practice and pull all candidates that have the keyword you’re looking for in their resume. For example, if you’re a cardiology practice and you’re looking for a medical assistant with cardiology experience you can search the database of these job boards for all candidates in your area with cardiology experience. This will allow you to narrow your search and be targeted in your approach.

Once you have found a few candidates you can then get their email out of the resume database to reach out directly to the candidate. You will have much more success this way as opposed to sending them a generalized email from that job platform. Reaching out directly gives these candidates a sense they are wanted and their skills are valued especially if they are currently employed. However, you may need to sweeten the deal if that candidate is already employed in order to make your role attractive enough for them to change offices.

Following those front line roles I moved into a staffing role at The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago and then into a contract labor role with a nationwide hospital brand. Having a desire to return closer to patient care while merging my administrative knowledge of healthcare I began managing various sized medical practices in the specialties of pediatric cardiology, pulmonology and dermatology. I have a desire to help practices grow and collaborate with dedicated healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care and financial results for the practice.
